Instrumentation: Spacedrum solo

Program Note:

“Mirage” is my first improvisation work, for spacedrum solo. The composer’s intention in “Mirage” is to create variation in the silent and soothing atmosphere. In every movement, there are rules, like the choice of pitches, the rhythmic combination, the structure of texture, the length of pattern and others. This work is to explore new possibility of soundscape and performance technique of this newly instrument. The performer could decide the length of each movement by themselves.

《幻像》为作者首部创作的即兴作品系列，为太空鼓独奏而作。这套作品系列强调的是一个享受宁静并带变化的过程，在每部小品里，作者都会在音乐素材上制定一些规则，如：音高的选择、节奏的组合、织体的形式及结构的长短等，来探索太空鼓这乐器音响以及技术演奏上的可能性。每部小品的长度可根据演奏者自己来决定。
